The For Zgharta Zawieh Association was founded in 2017 by Mr. Pierre Marcos Douaihy, a dedicated community leader committed to serving Zgharta through compassion, culture, and development.
Our Mission
We are committed to uplifting the people of Zgharta by addressing essential social needs while fostering long-term growth. Our work combines humanitarian support with initiatives that enhance economic opportunities, preserve cultural heritage, and strengthen community life. Through compassion and collaboration, we strive to empower individuals and families, build resilience, and create a brighter future for generations to come.

Job Fair North Lebanon 2026
SkillBridge initiative from “For Zgharta” launched its second job fair in Tripoli in collaboration with Scow association and Koulouna Ahl Association.

Australian Ambassador Tom Wislon in Zgharta
The visit of the new Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Tom Wilson, commenced with a tour of the historic Saydet Zgharta (Our Lady of Zgharta) neighborhood. He visited the Church of Our Lady, walked through the old street, and then proceeded to the atelier of artist Samih Zaatar. The tour concluded with a visit to the Youssef Bey Karam Museum.

Lebanon & Australia Over Time | Photo Exhibition
Under the patronage and in presence of the Ambassador of Australia to Lebanon, For Zgharta Zawieh organized a photo exhibition at Antonine University in Mejdlaya Zgharta, from the archives and a joint historical narrative shedding the light on:
– The Australian military presence in Lebanon in World War II and the Lebanese migration to Australia

My Medicine Initiative (Dawaii)
It aims to provide essential medications to individuals who cannot afford them, as well as patients in need of chronic treatments.

Bridges of Friendship: 80 Years of Diplomatic Relations between Lebanon & Mexico
For Zgharta Zawieh promotes culture and community through initiatives that celebrate heritage and foster exchange. We collaborate with embassies and other partners to bring international cultural experiences to Zgharta Zawieh and support environmental causes that protect our natural heritage and encourage sustainability.

Job Fair – North Lebanon 2025
The North Lebanon Job Fair 2025, organized by For Zgharta Zawieh Association in collaboration with key business and industry partners, took place on May 30–31, 2025 at Antonine University – Mejdlaya, Zgharta. It brought together job seekers and leading employers, the fair aims to connect talent with career opportunities, support companies in their recruitment needs, and strengthen local economic growth through networking and collaboration.
The Journey of Our Movement
Our Roots: Zgharta Zawieh Youth Movement (ZZM) Before establishing For Zgharta, our journey began with the Zgharta Zawieh Youth Movement. Below is the record of initiatives and events that laid the foundation for everything we do today.

Ehden Apple Festival
Supporting Local Agriculture: Created a direct marketplace for local farmers in Ehden to promote and sell their apple harvest.
Community & Family Fun: Hosted continuous activities for children, live entertainment, and evening parties.
Cultural Preservation: Built a staple annual tradition that brought residents and visitors together to celebrate the region’s heritage.

Women’s Professional Empowerment Workshops
In collaboration with IECD (Institut Européen de Coopération et de Développement)
Economic Independence: Supported local women in building sustainable livelihoods and fostering entrepreneurship across the region.
Vocational Training: Organized numerous practical training workshops enabling women to learn professional trades and sustainable skills.
Starter Kits for Pioneers: Equipped program graduates with professional starter toolkits so they could immediately begin working and earning an income.

Establishment of the Kadmous Center
Official launch of the Kadmous Cultural Center in Zgharta.
Main Objective: To create an intellectual and cultural space that addresses the social, educational, and artistic needs of youth and the local community in the Zgharta Zawieh district.
Key Focus: Capacity building for local associations, skill development for youth and children, and fostering dialogue and collaborative learning.

Rehabilitation & Beautification of Saydet Zgharta District
A major community-led urban restoration project that revived the historic architecture of Zgharta’s oldest district while implementing a local economic development framework to empower residents to preserve and invest in their properties.
