Lebanon & Australia Over Time – Photo Exhibition

For Zgharta Zawieh Association organized a photographic exhibition “Lebanon and Australia Over Time” at Antonine University – Mejdlaya, Zgharta, under the patronage of Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Mr. Andrew Barnes.

The president of the association Mr. Pierre Douaihy emphasized in his speech the importance of documenting our shared memory and strengthening the human and cultural ties between Lebanon and Australia.

The event featured thoughtful contributions from Academic Katia Karam, who spoke about the role of cultural diplomacy, and Mr. Youssef Bou Nassif, who highlighted the impact of the Lebanese diaspora in Australia. Ambassador Barnes also delivered a speech in which he thanked the organizers and underscored the vital role of the Lebanese community in Australia in strengthening bilateral relations.

On this occasion, Mr. Alexy Yammine presented His Excellency with a touristic book about Ehden and Zgharta, which he authored, as a gesture celebrating local heritage and identity.

The exhibition showcased archival photographs tracing Lebanese migration to Australia, alongside Australia’s presence in Lebanon during WWII, offering a powerful visual narrative of our shared history.

Proud to have brought this initiative to life and to celebrate the enduring bonds between Lebanon and Australia.
